Sonatest has been working closely with Aberdeen based Mako Offshore on a long-term project to utilise the VEO3 Phased Array system for their subsea inspection campaigns.
Mako Offshore using their in-house expertise to marinize the Veo3 for subsea operations (diver or ROV deployment) took on a complex project to inspect the parent material and a number of subsea weldments of a carbon steel pipeline.
The project was initiated by creating a bespoke test sample based on measured profiles of the subsea component to perform PA, TOFD and TFMi technique validations prior to being successfully deployed by divers on site.
The VEO3 was remotely operated by the topside Mako ANDT team.
