Wave & MQTT new Integration

This blog explains how to unleash the power of the Wave using the latest software technologies available today.

The Wave can share its measurements and A-scan data with industrial devices and systems over the network. An era of high connectivity is happening, and the Wave is now part of this branch of NDT innovation.

The future of NDT

The latest 2.1 software update for the Wave includes powerful new remote-control capabilities.

The technology is viable for fast (60 Hz) A-scan streaming through a VR headset, for example. In a different industry field, a software module can also remotely control the Wave for automation purposes.

Our implemented remote API is fast to develop and offers the maximum of what the Wave is capable of. Almost any new idea or UT inspection can be implemented with automation capabilities in a few days.

Sonatest has chosen a future-proof protocol that is widely supported by a solid community. The protocol’s name is MQTT version 5.0. There are loads of MQTT clients ready for the anticipated Wave remote application. It can be developed for a microcontroller, a phone, a tablet, a MAC or a PC.

Real-life UT Applications

This section covers a few examples of the limitless remote applications where the Wave will excel. Automation and wireless innovative solutions can be applied to all NDT industries that are looking for streamlined inspections, require less human interactions and are cost-effective to deploy

The Wave is compatible with wide range of UT transducer models and that allows many ultrasound-compatible applications. The remote API accelerates any simple UT inspections to fully integrated solutions.
