PANNDT 2025 Show Recap

Date: June 9–12, 2025
Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario

What a week! Sonatest had the pleasure of participating in the Pan-American Conference for NDT (PANNDT), where we reconnected with valued partners, shared our latest advancements, and celebrated the vibrant NDT community.

We’d like to extend a big thank-you to Pierre, Sam, and Yannis for supporting our exhibition booth and making meaningful connections possible throughout the event. A special shout-out to everyone who attended our presentation on the PA-TFMi study — your insightful questions showed that innovation in ultrasound imaging is very much alive. We were also honored to have industry leader Ed Ginzel among the audience.

Technical Program & Activities

The conference offered a generous lineup of technical presentations, even with many international attendees unable to travel. The side events were a highlight — from the gala dinners to the unforgettable tour of the historic hydro canal beneath the old dam, lit with rainbow-colored lights!

The UT Competition

A huge thank-you to Paul Holloway for organizing his first UT competition in Canada:
"PANNDT 2025 Ultrasonic Ace: Master of the Wave."

We also want to thank IRSS for helping make this event possible.

The competition was intense yet friendly — every contestant showed impressive focus and calm under pressure. The finals were held in the Niagara Fall Avalon theater, and the crowd could give a round of applause for the winners:

First Place - Philip Perrot (AIR, Australia)
Second Place - Duga Boychuck (Tilt Inspection, Canada)

Both stood out as two of young competitors, and incredibly, it was their first time using our Wave instrument. That makes their win even more remarkable. Good game to both!

Congratulations to all participants and a sincere thanks to everyone who helped make PANNDT 2025 a success. The future of NDT is bright — and we’re proud to be part of it.

A Personal Note from the Author

Just for fun — if you can relate.

  • I think I am not the brother or twin of Nolan Jarv.
  • I am terrible at TV interviews. Thank you @Inspenet for your patience with me.
  • I really enjoyed chatting with everyone. I had great conversations all around.
  • Thank you for the overall event schedule, among the best conference I’ve had.

See you soon in another NDT conference!
